It is for it is tion difficult to evaluate what any yearbook represents, only with time that the true value of such a publica- becomes apparent. It is our desire to present in this forty-sixth edition of our college annual a true picture of student life, to portray all of the activities, both academic and extra-curricular, which go into the making of a college graduate. You, however, must be the judge of whether we have succeeded. In the following pages and trust that this memento we have tried to represent you will recall your pleasant college days at Bloomsburg. Betty Brooker. secretary vice-president; Margaret Bow Dear Fellow Graduates: As the end of our college days draws near, our minds return to that day when we first entered Bloomsburg State College. Most of us were fresh out of high school. We were ready to conquer the world, inspired by fresh ideas, by dreams and by ambitions immature youth on the threshold of a new experience. The following years found many of our dreams shattered. Many of our ideas proved impractical. We continued to strive toward a goal that seemed uncertain at times. . . . During the course of our education at Bbomsburg, we grew in understanding of ourselves. We developed sound judgment, and we began to comprehend this great thing called "life." We gained many new friendships, and achieved self-confidence. We learned' to think, to make decisions, to accept responsibility, and to teach. To teach the goal toward which we have been striving for all these years ... a reality! Once more we face a new challenge, but we are older and more mature. This time we stand ready to meet any challenge, confident of our ability, and proud of our chosen profession. We now face the greatest challenge of our lives to educate the leaders of tomorrow. If our countryis to remain free, we must be the best educated nation on this earth. It is, therefore, the responsibility of each ot us to contribute our small part to attain these ends. Although we are many in a long line of Bloomsburg classes, we will not be forgotten. We have given much of ourselves to Bloomsburg both on the athletic" field and in the classroom. We have spent countless hours and contributed numerous ideas to help Bloomsburg grow and progress. As the years slip by, we shall continue, through our Alumni Association, to support Bloomsburg State College as we have done for the past four years. To our parents, the President of our college, the Board of Trustees, the Commonwealth of Pennsyl- — — — vania, the administration and the faculty, our class advisers Mr. Scarpino, Mr. Scrimgeour, Mr. Cope, and Mr. Bashore, we say thank you for your patience, inspiration, and guidance throughout the years. We will do our best to make you proud of the Class of 1962. And now, with graduation just around the corner, I would like to thank the class for giving me the honor and privilege of serving as your president. May I extend to each member of the class my sincere congratulations and best wishes for continued success in the years to come. May our thoughts return often to Bloomsburg State College and the Class of 1962.
