KNE Faculty Holds Another Special Meeting T h e LHS faculty a g a i n held a special meeting yesterday. Ten tenured faculty members h a d p e t i t i o n e d for t h e m e e t i n g . These faculty members had drawn up a proposal to be s e n t t o t h e e d i t o r of the Express p e n d i n g a p p r o v a l of the f a c u l t y . Early in t h e m e e t i n g Mr. John J o h n s t o n gave the a s s e m bly b a c k g r o u n d i n f o r m a t i o n c o n cerning the q u e s t i o n of w h o e x a c t l y is r e s p o n s i b l e for t h e d i s t o r t e d s t o r i e s a p p e a r i n g in the May 8th i s s u e of t h e Express. J o h n s t o n s t a t d d that Buck O'Riley t o l d him t h a t he d i d n o t d i s tort a n y i n f o r m a t i o n b e c a u s e t h e information had been p r e s e n t e d t o h i m by R o b e r t M. C o l t r a n e , dir*V:tor of P u b l i c R e l a t i o n s a t LHS Upon b e i n g a s k e d by J o h n s t o n if h e h a d r e l e a s e d s t a t e ments referring to " d e m a n d s " of the s u t d e n t s a n d a p o s s i b l e "take-over", Coltrane replied t h a t h e h e d b e e n informed thai t h r e a t s of a t a k e - o v e r had b e e n expressed from conversations he had with s t u d e n t s . Johnston a l s o pointed out the m i s r e p r e s e n t a t i o n LHS r e ceived from the Williamsport Sun-Gazette. The essence of that statement was that the p l a n n e d t a k e - o v e r of t h e L H S campus by students never materialized. Several professors in a t t e n d a n c e a t a l l meetings presented their v i e w s of t h e error by s a y i n g t h a t t h e w o r d s "demands" of "take-over" w e r e n e v e r u s e d . Mr. L e e V a n Horn s t a t e d that t h i s error w a s " w i l l f u l l y d o n e by t h e c a m p u s p r e s s * * a n d t h a t t h e " i m a g e of the c o l l e g e h a s b e e n b a d l y m i s r e p r e s e n t e d . * ' B a c k i n g him on this issue was Mr. Vincent Stewart who stated that the "faculty was never presented w'ith a l i s t of s t u d e n t d e r m n d s .
