Last year's squad had no seniors and only one junior and posted the most successful dual meet record in the history of the sport at BSC (11-1 ). Terry Lee and Tim Waechter are expected to be the top runners again with substantial help from Larry Strohl, Scott Rogers, Bob Bentzinger, and Charles Graham. Mike Dufrayne and Mike Silvetti, both of whom were hampered by injuries last season, should be in top running form and provide Noble with substantial depth. The only senior on the squad is Dave Kelter, who will be in his third straight year of varsity competition, and also is a steady performer on the varsity swimming team. Several freshmen prospects will also be on hand for the season's opening meet with Millersville S. C. at Bloomsburg on October 1. Although this year's team should be much stronger than that of a year ago, due to the improvement of a number of the Huskies' opponents, it will be difficult to top last year's record. Home meets will be run on essentially the same course that was used last year, which embraces part of the new upper campus of the college. HEAD COACH DR. CLYDE NOBLE took over the range of the BSC cross country team just prior to the start of the 1968 season and posted a 3- 5 record. Last year, which was the first year freshmen could compete in varsity competition, Noble's aggregation made the best cross country record in the history of the college (11-1 ). A native of Rockford, Illinois, Noble received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, and his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Hawaii. He has taken additional graduate studies at Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh. In high school Noble earned four letters in track, three in basketball, and two in football. He wa5 also a member of the track team at Grinnell College Noble's interest in all sports and his knowledge of running should provide the Huskies with a definite asset to make it the second winning season in a row.
