The bulk of this year's squad will be composed of sophomores and juniors who showed up quite well during the three week spring practice in April. Speaking of the incoming · sophomores, Houk stated, "These boys have ability and are all eager to gain a starting berth. This is the kind of enthusiasm with which I like to work. Maybe not this year, but soon, we will be contenders for state college honors." Houk also indicated that barring injuries the Huskies should come up with B.S.C.'s first winning season since 1960. The line this year should be well fortified in depth and have the size to give protection for quarterback Dick Lichte! and provide running room for shifty Joe Gerst and several other speedy backs such as Jim Masich and Jerry Schraeder. Lichte!, who likes to run the ball as well as throw, should be one of the better quarterbacks in the conference. With the return of several fine ends including Stan Kucharski, Bob Tucker, and Russell Rudy, the Huskies' varied attack should keep the opposition guessing. In addition to Gerst, Schraeder, and Masich, other returning backfield men include: Terry Henry, Dill Hunter, Mike Defrancisco, John Farelly, and Mike Novak. Returning linemen are: Dick Greco, Bernard Schaefer, Bill Moul and I3ob Surridge. P r omising sophomore members are: backs-Pat Slavin. Dave Shell, Ed MacKay, and Art SeJI; linemen-Fred Harris, Bob Deitrich, Steve Mihaly, Bruc e Kramme s, Tom Eastep, Dave Arnold, Ron Chri stina, and Lynn Roccograndi .
